Exquisitely Wonderful…

The last 48 hours of my life were unbelievably hectic, yet exquisitely wonderful…

Operation “Moving Dani” was completed successfully, although I have to say in the middle of it all, I wasn’t sure we are going to make it! However, everything turned out great and by the end of the day, exhausted yet filled with incredible sense of achievement (silly, I know…) I was celebrating with a chilled glass of Rose’ in my new and “undiscovered” neighborhood…

And since, a new apartment means new Decor, I’ve been doing quite a bit of shopping! And after glancing at my shopping bag, I realized how obsessed with white I really am at the moment. Absolutely fascinated with texture (in white) and random “sprinkles” of bright color! Evidently, some inspiration from Angelika Tasccen’s uber-chic apartment… And she also happens to be the owner/publisher of one of my favorite interior design book series! (below… I have Berlin Interiors!)

Now, a bit of a heads up… The next three weeks are threatening to be even busier than the previous (if that’s even possible) and since my computer has said his official goodbyes and seems to be – well, dead, we might be experiencing a rarefication (I might have invented a word…) – of me!

Random Thing of Beauty… {Red}

Sorry to completely disappear on you like this, but between 4 cups of coffee that I had today, 3 assignments/tests/presentations I had to prepare and my entire life that needs to be packed in boxes by tomorrow morning (meaning in about 10 hours from NOW) , I can hardly stop to catch my breath. And not because I’m tired, because I am beyond excited! (and about to have a caffeine crush very soon…) New beginnings always smell so good…

So for now, although I have brand new Proper Attire posts coming your way, I’ll have to leave you with a random thing of beauty… Lady in red, always a stunner, never get’s old…

(Hmmm… Red fur… YUM)

Golden Girl

I’ve always been an “All Or Nothing” kind of girl, and I suppose, inevitable in fashion as well… Head to toe, covered in gold, with just a touch of soft fur sounds lovely to me…  I hope you enjoy this editorial from Vogue Mexico as much as I do… And if you must know, I think that Maryna Linchuk is just the perfect fit for the “role”, I literally can’t get enough of her…

Paper Doll

Making a “couture” dress out of paper is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when preparing a design portfolio, BUT when you’re in school it’s really not up to you… And when I say “couture” I mean, when was the last time you’ve cut your material into triangles and hand sewn a dress out of them??? I must say, that despite the fact that this dress is rather “disposable” I’m quite pleased with how it turned out, and if I may add- Natalie has never looked so lovely…

And I would like to thank again to all the remarkable talents that contributed to this collaboration and shared their craft!

And a special thank you to Daniel Silverstain that was THE BEST “model-coach” ever!

Overwhelming Abundance

Yesterday I’ve been to my future (yet empty) accommodations, armed with a measuring tape, and quite a bit of excitement… Now, would be the best part of the “operation”. The day dreaming phase, completely untouched by “mortal” worries; movers, budget or any attachment to reality, browsing through pretty much all my ELLE Decor archives, interior design books or what seems to be an absolutely overwhelming abundance of decor inspiration online… Forming in my mind, what would the dream apartment be like…

I’m mostly craving for whites, spotted with saturated colors and touches of cool metal… YUM.

Rainy CHIC

I’m not a fan of rainy days, rain-coats however, are an entirely different story! At the end of the summer, the only thing that prevented the rain from ruining my day is the fact I had a brand new coat for the occation… I’m sure you’ll see this one a few more times this winter (since winter in Israel pretty much means tons of rain) but for now, here are some snappies from a past collaboration with Matthew Shalaby.

Vintage Rain-Coat, Vintage sequins top, Victoria Beckham corduroy jeans, Thrifted bracelet, Vintage leather purse (I got as a gift from a very CHIC lady!)  and shoes by Theory.

LOVE LOVE LOVE {Teen Vogue}

I think I mentioned once before (okay okay maybe twice!) my eternal admiration towards all things colorful and glossy within this perfectly sized magazine, and I have to say every time I get my monthly addition delivered to my mailbox – it kinda makes my day! And although I’m not a teen anymore (there- I said it ha ha) I don’t think I’ll ever be too old for that…

And if you too, were dazzled by that beautiful necklace in the first frame, check out what else Erickson Beamon has in store at Net-A-Porter, I personally, “would not mind”  this bracelet al all… Or maybe… those earings???Perfect for my recent crave for rather simple looks, with some jewel “pop” !

‘Brightest Spost’

There are very few things I appreciate more than smart styling (well, when it comes to fashion…). Sometimes a simple outfit can be outstandingly crowned with the right touch of bright accessories… I think that this editorial (from the latest ELLE Magazine) is the perfect example of just that.

And is that just me or is she border-line-inappropriately ravishing???

Pink-Pressed-Wonder {Blush Trickery}

I don’t mean to sound silly, but discovering blush was a real revelation to me. Some might consider being pale as an equivalent of true beauty, to me it was always a matter to avoid, and since I first came across this pink-pressed wonder, it became one the most important steps in my beauty regiment (and a bit of an obsession, I usually have at least 7 different shades of blush in my make-up kit…).

So although this is not a “legit” beauty tutorial, since today I discovered I need to replenish my blush supply asap I though I’ll share with you a neat trick (of giving your face a tiny bit more definition in a matter of seconds) I learned from one of the most talented make up artists I have ever worked with, Alona Belayeva (she is the one credited for the make up in all of these… The photo above is from a lingerie shoot we worked together a while ago and despite the fact that the make up is very subtle, I think the blush work is on the dot.

So… The trickery is actually quite simple. All you’ll need is two shades of blush, both on a natural palette, one is soft pink (I use “Barely Buff by Revlon) and the other more on the brown side (for ex, “Toast of New-York” also by Revlon) , both have to be matte . The bronzy/purly blushes won’t give you that natural effect… The pink shade goes on the apples of the cheek and the darker shade goes a little bit below the cheek bones in a long “swoosh” towards the sides of the face, that way you create an illusion of much more defined bone structure. After you apply, just blend the two and Voila! Seems pretty simple, but I have never done it that way before Alona showed me…

{Oh, and another favorite is definitely by Vincent Longo, it comes in two divine shades of naive pink and peach!}
