First Glance

My hometown has a tendency of being the complete opposite to a fashion capital (no offense to the natives) therefore the location for the first snappies had to be perfect.

Unfortunately, since the compound is still under some last construction finishes I couldn’t reveal it to you in its full glory (I suppose it’s only an excuse to come back again…) but this is by far one of the most innovative structures in the city and once completed I have no doubt it will be one of the most impressive theaters in the country.

{Currently Obsessed}

Okay okay so I may have been spoiling myself lately… What?! It was a really hard semester… Currently obsessed with Dior’s ‘It Pink’ lipstick and silver hardware thrown over fur, leather and sequins…

Sequin top by Michael Kors, Fur knitted scarf (incredibly soft…!), Sample leather belt (got it from a “secret boutique” in downtown Manhattan…), Silver Choker and Necklace from the Israeli company CASTRO, Dior smokey eye palette and lipstick…

Traveling home has one major side-effect. Brutal, and absolutely uninterested in my plans for tomorrow morning- jet-lag. It’s the strangest scenario finding yourself completely exhausted yet miraculously alert at 25 past 3 in the morning, indifferently browsing the web   in search for a distraction from today’s turn of events, that proved that life can never really stop being way over the top. I suppose that admiring such beauty can have somewhat of a soothing effect on one’s soul… My conclusions? Carmen must be the definition of ‘flawless’…

Model Carmen Pedaru demonstrating effortless perfection with such ease… J’adore.

{New In}

Aaahhh… Christmas Shopping is probably the biggest temptation this time of year. The streets are full with grin flushed (or slight horror, depending on who your eye lands on…) ladies tapping around town in high heels, clutching overflowing shopping bags that rustle with a special fresh paper sound… Well, since I am Russian, celebrating New-Years is mandatory and usually accompanied by champagne and caviar… And meticulously wrapped presents… You see, that’s exactly why, I was ‘forced’ to go on a shopping spree and with my luck, come across those…

Puffy Vest by American Apparel, Booties by Parizia Pepe (Hello Italian shoooes…), and belt from an unknown source (found it in a department store…) and my good old KISS Sunnies…

Coated {In Black}

When it comes to coats, I must say I am a big fan of tailored classics, and if there is any chance you’ve missed the fact that I thrive on black, here is another testimony… This is the second “episode” from my collaboration with Andy to document my design work here in New York.

When I developed the patterns for this coat I was hopping to achieve a simple yet elegant silhouette that would be a tad more ”dressy” than you’re everyday coating choice, and for days one desires a dash of opulence- some fur -of course…

Let’s just say the chances are you are going to see quite a bit of this one this winter, after all cashmere, leather and fur can be somewhat irresistible…

Dream me an Office

Well… If you absolutely INSIST, I suppose I CAN work from this office…

I simply can not get enough of The Coveteur ladies and the sheer genius inspiration oozing from practically every shot on their web-site. I mean, I could be clicking, for HOURS… {And sometimes I do!}

The images above were taken at the offices of Who What Wear…

OH, and by the way, my winter break just started officially! Done & done !!! And now, some Christmas shopping…!

Day or Night {Black}

For the past month (or perhaps even more) I can’t get enough of BLACK. Head to toe, day or night, black seems to be the only way I want to go… I’m very excised about this post, and not only because it’s featuring a few of my favorite possessions (I mean, who can resist curly Mongolian black fur???) but also because it’s the first post shot in my new neighborhood !

Vintage wool-cashmere blend jacket (previously featured here), Custom made Mongolian-fur collar, Vintage leather belt, Skirt from H&M, (New!) Sunnies by KISS, Vintage jewelry, Vintage purse (first seen here) and boots by Franco Sarto.

Catching Butterflies {MRD}

The end of the semester always seems to arrive accompanied by a record-breaking level of fatigue… An outstanding shortage of rest that will take quite a while to compensate for…Like an accurate pattern, I always find myself craving for a recharge in nature, gazing into the sunset or just resting my eyes on spacious escapades…

These images were taken by a new collaborator at CHIC A LA’ RUSSE, which I had the pleasure of working with recently, Michael R Dunham.

Michael comes from a slightly different background then Fashion, and on top of his exploits in photography works as a structural engineer in the city, and unlike most photographers I’ve collaborated with before prefers working with film, sometimes expired (I’m especially fond of the ones he took in Paris).

I thought our first collaboration was rather compelling, but stop by tomorrow and judge for yourselves!

{In Theory}

It was brought to my attention recently- that winter is HERE. And in full blow… Manhattan’s sharp winds that leave you slightly stunned are definitely back… Although, I’m a much bigger fan of summer, winter coats are kind of a weakness, and this Theory coat is beyond cozy and I like the fact that it’s so cropped, avoiding the whole “looking like a bear” issue… (I came up with this combo this semester running to my 8 am class! That’s what I call fast chic!)
