Invigorating Fractions

I had the most random (yet surprisingly fascinating) conversation with a taxi driver the other day. I was running late and stormed into the vehicle somewhat amused by the whole idea of being in bed just moments beforehand and in the spirit of things we found ourselves invested in a “small-talk” about life, control (or perhaps, at times, the lack of it) and well- love. He asked me what made me “alive”, adding that 90% of people today are ‘walking bodies’, what made me ‘different’? I said hope, and the chance of being truly loved someday for what I am and nothing else… How romantic of me, I know… But today, after crashing into sleep after being up all night (working on a project, a similar night ahead of me…) I though of something else, in addition to the above…

You know how sometimes there are moments in life that are beyond invigorating, almost unbearable in their intoxicating influence on us… Little fractions of time, in which nothing makes sense but at the same time, these are moments of serene peace… Mmm, life.

Oh and I’ve been sort of obsessed with Miranda Kerr lately so I dug up this beautiful editorial from Numero (2010) Photographed by Sebastian Kim, she almost doesn’t look herself here…Invigorating indeed if you ask me………….

Sweet Escapades

These days every minute of my time has a purpose, like a bullet, prepared to penetrate an exact target. From the few hours of sleep (a topic on which I contemplate every single night, rethinking how little is too little or perhaps too much?!) through the rushed morning coffee’s and breakfast “on the go” (damn you modern society…) to the never ending juggling act between work and school (barely made it to French today after wrapping up a shoot with David Hamsley, which was pretty awesome actually! Show and tell soon, promise!) my escapades into peaceful “grounds” are carefully timed and spread out throughout the day,in tini-tiny portions, to maintain some sort of sanity in a world that has gone mad…

For example today, while cherishing every sip of my morning coffee, I took a dreamy tour at Dorothee Schumacher’s beautiful beautiful home in Germany… To me, besides the obvious (that this house is oh so wonderful) it’s the perfect balance between past and future, country and fashion, fast and sublimely slow… I hope you too, find your minutes of peace through your crazy chase and dream away about that chance that what we truly want might actually, one day, become true… Careful what you wish for!

Summer Thrills

You know, every time I can’t sleep at night I can’t help but sneak a smile, and before you think I am completely out of it, let me explain. I just find it SO ironic, that this rare pleasure keeps avoiding my sanctuary but I can’t really say the reason leaves me unhappy… In a way, those nights, that my mind keeps racing in a loop are the best, it’s those moments when I get a glance at what is truly possible, what is out there for the ones that look for it (the ones that have occasional slips of insomnia) I find this whole wild ride completely worth it. And I guess part of this excitement has something to do with soon to come Summer, my favorite time of the year… Wonderful things happen in the summer, there’s just something in the air that makes everything sexy and effortlessly exuberating… You never know what’s next. I can’t think of a better “excuse” to share this mmm playful (?) editorial from the latest Harper’s Bazaar Singapore with you, plus Coco rocks.

{Open Field}

Remember Julie? So…despite the fact it took me forever (!!!) to find the time and actually share these- here are a few of my favorite shots from our collaboration this winter back in Israel…

As I expected, this shoot turned out into a really cool adventure, the location (an open field in Ramat Ha-Sharon, not too far from Tel-Aviv, in case you were wondering…) and the whole atmosphere of the shoot really took me back… It was refreshing to be “just” the model (we had the feisty May Sebbag on stylist duty) and portray a different persona then I usually do…

I hope I’ll get the chance to explore my new affair with Julie Teitler, that was ever pleasant and extremely professional, dealing with any unexpected set backs with grace and relentless optimism…

Simply Irresistible

So… I’ve been a terrible blogger lately, I know… But I must say, one should always prioritize and I’ve been doing just that. I think that the past month was some sort of a test from a higher force to see just how many tasks will I be able to juggle at once. You know, It really never sees to amaze me how incredibly rich life can be at times, how large the spectrum of the choices one can make and the opportunities that lay ahead…  I feel very lucky to be serounded by (for the lack of a better word) amazing people, that are not only ridiculously talented but also kind and intelligent… I can honestly say that this past week (no matter how physically and emotionally tasking it was) I was truly inspired and not only by the aesthetic outcome  but also on a human level…

Now, besides the joy of actually submitting everything on time I am beyond excited to tell you about a new collaboration of a slightly different nature… After a long correspondence with a company based in Israel I am now officially part of the design team of a new product that will be sold in the U.S… Funny enough I was originally introduced to the owner of the company as a model, potentially portraying the essence of the brand… I can’t tell you (or show you) much more at this point from confidentiality reasons but I promise you’ll be the first to know once it hits the stores!

And now, with your permission- some fashion… I’m a huge fan of simple and sexy (especially when there are shorts involved…), and I think Magdalena is simply irresistible in this editorial. Shot by Lachlan Bailey for Vogue Paris (April 2012)
