{Open Field}

Remember Julie? So…despite the fact it took me forever (!!!) to find the time and actually share these- here are a few of my favorite shots from our collaboration this winter back in Israel…

As I expected, this shoot turned out into a really cool adventure, the location (an open field in Ramat Ha-Sharon, not too far from Tel-Aviv, in case you were wondering…) and the whole atmosphere of the shoot really took me back… It was refreshing to be “just” the model (we had the feisty May Sebbag on stylist duty) and portray a different persona then I usually do…

I hope I’ll get the chance to explore my new affair with Julie Teitler, that was ever pleasant and extremely professional, dealing with any unexpected set backs with grace and relentless optimism…

{Texture Play}

Although I am sticking (at this point almost religiously) to an all black attire, a play of texture is a great way to keep things more interesting, every surface reflects light in a slightly different way and rewrites the whole scenario… Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of experimenting with textures in monochrome ensembles…

Puffy Vest by American Apparel, Cashmere Sweater from Club Monaco, Vintage Velvet Skirt, Sunnies by KISS, Gloves from Moscow (A gift from my dad…), Necklace I found in a thrift store and both shoes and patent leather belt are from unknown companies…

A Huge thank you to Alona and Eldad for this wonderful collaboration, I had the best time working with you again!

Shot in Israel’s financial district, Ramat Gan, by Eldad Carin. Make up by Alona Bell.

{New In}

Aaahhh… Christmas Shopping is probably the biggest temptation this time of year. The streets are full with grin flushed (or slight horror, depending on who your eye lands on…) ladies tapping around town in high heels, clutching overflowing shopping bags that rustle with a special fresh paper sound… Well, since I am Russian, celebrating New-Years is mandatory and usually accompanied by champagne and caviar… And meticulously wrapped presents… You see, that’s exactly why, I was ‘forced’ to go on a shopping spree and with my luck, come across those…

Puffy Vest by American Apparel, Booties by Parizia Pepe (Hello Italian shoooes…), and belt from an unknown source (found it in a department store…) and my good old KISS Sunnies…

Day or Night {Black}

For the past month (or perhaps even more) I can’t get enough of BLACK. Head to toe, day or night, black seems to be the only way I want to go… I’m very excised about this post, and not only because it’s featuring a few of my favorite possessions (I mean, who can resist curly Mongolian black fur???) but also because it’s the first post shot in my new neighborhood !

Vintage wool-cashmere blend jacket (previously featured here), Custom made Mongolian-fur collar, Vintage leather belt, Skirt from H&M, (New!) Sunnies by KISS, Vintage jewelry, Vintage purse (first seen here) and boots by Franco Sarto.

The {Oversized} Shirt

Well, you can’t say I haven’t warned you, so, as “scheduled” more blacks coming your way…  All I have to say is bear with me, I promise some color in the near future!

I found this over-sized 80′s shirt in one of my favorite thrift stores on the East side, Downtown Manhattan, and it’s been one of the pieces I wore the most this season. I just love the big proportion on top paired with a short, slim skirt. It’s such an easy look, the kind you don’t think twice about and yet somehow I always get compliments while wearing this shirt!

Eternally Black Eternally Chic

As my Black-Phase continues (untill further notice) I decided to look into one of the women that carries black like no other, Kate Lanpher. The American born style-phenomenon, has  held posts at both Vogue Australia and Harper’s Bazaar and most recently, been appointed Senior Style Director at US Elle.

Regardless to the fact she’s a flawless pixie, I find her somewhat boyish style completely irresistible. She always has the perfect balance between simple items and just the right touch of “hard-wear”… I also noticed she makes grey & black, a combination I haven’t found as particularly appealing so far, work so well together. Hmm.

*Sparkle*

I don’t know if you have noticed, but I’ve been having one of my black phases… Once in a while, I have this need to wear only black, it can go on for days and sometimes even months… The longest I’ve gone was two months (that’s when people start asking questions…), I guess in a way it’s like a safe territory, a way to neutralize…

Vintage wool-cashmere blend jacket (which kind of inspired this entire look, since it’s lined in silver silk), Skirt from H&M, Vintage Talbot’s sequins top, Vintage chain belt (recently seen here- as a necklace) and jewelry, Silver broach from the 80′s (I find it quite entertaing…) Sunnies courtesy of China-Town (of all places) and shoes from Aldo.

As for the tiny silver purse it was a very special gift and the black mesh evening-purse I lucked out and found in a thrift store!

Photos by Eric Scott , thank you for another wonderful collaboration!
